DFA/Kemps in Iowa seeks a Utilities Technician to manage ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and compressed air systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, test operations, and assist with PSM activities, working with contractors as needed.

The role requires experience with ammonia systems, boiler knowledge, and strong safety practices. On-site position with competitive benefits and weekend on-call expectations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Capable of legibly writing records and using company systems.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration and boiler systems is required.
• Ammonia Operator 1 Certificate or better is required.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE usage is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and compressed air systems.
• Document maintenance records accurately and promptly.
• Test system operation with gauges and instruments.
• Disassemble, assemble, and install refrigeration equipment as needed.
• Communicate with other departments and report issues affecting production efficiency.
