Job summary

The Simplot Company is seeking a maintenance technician for the Grand Forks site to maintain and operate refrigeration systems, HVAC equipment, and ammonia facilities. You will perform defrosts on freezer evaporators and ensure safe, compliant operation across all plant systems.

Qualifications include 2.5+ years in related industrial refrigeration, basic HVAC knowledge, and strong mechanical aptitude. The role requires safety training, lockout/tagout proficiency, and the ability to work with

Qualifications

Minimum of 2.5 years of related maintenance/refrigeration experience or training.
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
Understanding of refrigeration cycle fundamentals.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Refrigeration operation and maintenance for Grand Forks site; defrost freezer evaporators.
Maintain clean and functional work area.
Ensure work orders are completed as assigned.
Monitor fire sprinkler system during emergencies.
Verify data reporting systems and logs for accuracy.
Troubleshoot ammonia facility with two or more staff as needed.
Operate and maintain air compressors, HVAC, AMU units, and low oxygen systems.
Support progress of the plant PSM program.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures for electrical and valve shutoffs.
Attend training and maintain professional conduct and appearance.
Handle additional management-required duties to meet standards.
