Job summary

Sugar-Creek-Packing-Co. seeks a Refrigeration Technician to maintain and troubleshoot Ammonia refrigeration systems in a manufacturing setting in Kansas.

You will work with high-hazard equipment, follow RETA/PSM standards, perform inspections, tests, and overhauls, and support emergency response activities. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, 2 years of ammonia refrigeration experience, RETA CIRO and Level II training, Hazmat certification, and fitness-for-duty clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of verifiable Ammonia Refrigeration experience.
• RETA Industrial Ammonia Operator Level II training and RETA CIRO certification.
• Hazmat Technician Level with annual refresher training.
• Fit-for-Duty medical approval including pulmonary testing.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs advanced service, repairs, troubleshooting and overhauls to Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
• Check ammonia valves on roof, outside condenser and exhaust fans.
• Perform charging, evacuation, and pressure testing of system vessels and components.
• Understand electrical schematics, PLCs, and distribution systems to troubleshoot root causes.
• Provide technical guidance to operators and assist in supervision of contractor activity.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team and respond to chemical releases and spills.
