Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Decatur, AL is seeking a skilled ammonia refrigeration technician for 2nd shift to maintain, operate, inspect and repair our refrigeration systems at a poultry processing plant.

You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, take readings, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure compliance with safety policies. On-the-job training is provided and benefits start day one.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in running, maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration equipment.
• Intermediate math and computer skills.
• Thorough knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and components.
• Ability to work unsupervised and work nights, weekends and extended shift hours.
• Must follow safety policies and wear PPE at all times.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the ammonia refrigeration compressor room per blueprints and diagrams.
• Take system readings, analyze variances and report findings.
• Identify root causes and repair complex mechanical issues.
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on compressors.
• Maintain blueprints, operating manuals and procedures.
• Assist in training entry level personnel.
• Work in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
