Job summary

MAC Incorporated in Dallas, TX seeks a strong Ammonia Refrigeration Technician for the 2nd shift at a large manufacturing plant. The role requires operating and maintaining ammonia systems, performing preventive maintenance, logging data, and ensuring GMP and USDA compliance.

You will collaborate with teams to resolve issues, maintain safety and documentation, and support production with PLC/VFD-driven systems. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; on-call 24/7 availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong background in ammonia refrigeration, preferably in food manufacturing environments.
• 5–10 years of hands-on ammonia-based refrigeration experience preferred.
• Skilled in HVAC repair and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, adhering to PSM, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Availability for 24/7 on-call support.
• Maintain documentation for preventive maintenance, in-house audits, and annual inspections.
• Language Skills: English/Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Mathematical and reasoning abilities; able to read schematics and drawings.

LARGE MANUFACTURING PLANT IN DALLAS TX IS LOOKING FOR A STRONG AMMONIA REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN ON 2ND SHIFT. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH CERTIFICATES AS WELL CARO, RETA, AMMONIA OPERATOR 1, ETC. THEY NEED TO GET THIS ROLE FILLED FAST.

MUST BE OPEN TO OT USUALLY MON-SAT

SHIFTS:
2ND SHIFT- M-F PLUS SATURDAYS 1PM-9:30PM

PAYS: $31.50-$36.50 HOURLY (DOE)

Essential Functions:

• Operate and maintain boilers, air compressors, and ammonia-based refrigeration systems in a frozen food manufacturing plant.
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure packaging, processing, and facility equipment operate at peak performance.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation of operating conditions, system performance, and any issues encountered.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to identify, communicate, and resolve problems.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety rules, GMPs, and USDA regulations.
• Safely and effectively maintain plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems through proper diagnosis, repair, and routine servicing.
• Assist with maintenance of production and processing machinery, mechanical equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Repair and maintain pumps, conveyor systems, motors, and other equipment, following schematics, blueprints, manuals, or manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect, test, and evaluate machinery with operators to determine root causes of malfunctions.
• Conduct daily chemical testing, record results, and make system adjustments to maintain refrigeration and utility systems within established limits.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of refrigeration, steam generation, and utility systems.
• Perform welding repairs on metal components and assist with equipment assembly.
• Work with PLC controls, VFD drives, and demonstrate proficiency in instrumentation.

Job Requirements & Skills:

• Strong background in ammonia refrigeration, preferably in food manufacturing environments.
• 5–10 years of hands‑on ammonia‑based refrigeration experience preferred.
• Skilled in HVAC repair and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, adhering to Process Safety Management (PSM), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Availability for 24/7 on‑call support.
• Maintain documentation for preventive maintenance, in‑house audits, and annual inspections.
• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, manuals, and journals. Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Mathematical Skills: Solid math ability; capable of working with formulas and measurements.
• Reasoning Ability: Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to read schematics, interpret mechanical drawings, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
