Job summary

Lineage is seeking an experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join our Seattle team. You will maintain and repair industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, electrical components, and related infrastructure while documenting work in our CMMS.

• 5+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Universal EPA 608 certification required.
• RETA Operator I certification or more.
• CARO certification required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Strong computer skills, including CMMS documentation.
• Ability to communicate technical information effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia systems.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment, motors, wiring, and electrical/electronic components.
• Perform maintenance on building infrastructure and material handling equipment.
• Inspect and test refrigeration systems to ensure safe operation per design specs.
• Complete work orders and document all work in the CMMS.
• Maintain maintenance records and communicate equipment conditions to leadership.
• Monitor contractors for safety compliance on refrigeration systems.
• Use facility equipment and lifts to perform maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Job description

Seattle, WA | IUOE Local 302 | $40.64/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Overtime & occasional weekends may be required based on workload and projects

We are seeking an experienced Ammonia Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join our team in Seattle. This role is ideal for a skilled refrigeration professional with strong technical expertise, troubleshooting abilities, and the confidence to work independently.

What You'll Do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial refrigeration systems , including ammonia systems.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment, motors, wiring, and electrical/electronic components in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on building infrastructure and material handling equipment.
• Inspect and test refrigeration systems to ensure they are operating safely and according to design specifications.
• Complete work orders and accurately document all work performed in the CMMS .
• Maintain inspection and preventive maintenance records and communicate equipment conditions and maintenance needs to leadership.
• Monitor contractors working on or near refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with company safety requirements and applicable regulations.
• Use facility equipment and motorized lifts as needed to perform maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Perform other maintenance and engineering duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Universal EPA 608 certification required.
• RETA Operator I certification or more.
• CARO certification required.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20°F in cold-storage environments and up to 100°F in dry-storage environments while wearing required PPE and freezer gear.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. , with requirements potentially varying by facility.
• Comfortable working around varying noise levels, including loud environments.
• Ability to work at heights where required and follow applicable Working at Height regulations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and occasional weekends based on business needs.
