Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an industrial maintenance technician to install, repair and monitor processing machinery and oversee a preventative maintenance program.

You will keep safety a top priority while maintaining electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Responsibilities include using CMMS to schedule maintenance, diagnosing issues by observing equipment, and performing repairs on production lines, conveyors, and water treatment equipment in a fast-paced plant

Qualifications

• 3–5 years industrial maintenance experience including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• 3–5 years installing and repairing industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred.
• Advanced technical or college training is a plus.
• Experience with ammonia systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors and production machines using CMMS.
• Locates sources of problems by observing devices, listening for problems, and using precision instruments.
• Performs repairs on production equipment, loading docks and wastewater equipment.
• Installs motors, grinders and conveyor systems.
• Maintains electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical systems.
• Fabricates repair parts using shop instrumentation.
• Maintains inventories by checking stock levels.
• Operates hand tools, scissor/boom lifts and forklifts safely.
• Prepares maintenance reports by analyzing data and trends.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment in compliance with procedures and regulations.

You will be responsible for installing, repairing and monitoring industrial processing and production machinery as well as executing a preventative maintenance program, keeping safety as a top priority.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Performs repairs on production equipment, loading doors and docks, waste water equipment, and building.
• Installs equipment such as motors, grinders, and conveyor systems.
• Maintains electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, and ammonia systems.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level.
• Safely operates hand tools, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 3-5 years industrial maintenance, to include maintaining electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
• Minimum of 3-5 years installing and repairing industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Advanced technical or college training.
• Experience working with ammonia systems a plus.
• Stable work history.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, and biohazardous conditions.
• Requires prolonged sitting and movement throughout office/work locations, as well as occasional use of computers and office equipment.
• Must frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
