Job summary

The Virgin Islands Water & Power Authority seeks an AMI Operations Manager to lead all operational activities for Advanced Metering Infrastructure, including meter data collection, field devices, and system performance. You will supervise AMI staff, ensure compliance with SLAs, and coordinate with IT and field teams to maintain reliable AMI data and network operations.

The role emphasizes vendor coordination with Itron and ongoing system upgrades, performance monitoring, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Six (6) years of experience in AMI operations, utility operations, IT systems, or networked infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Supervise AMI Analysts and Technicians, including workload management and performance reviews.
• Oversee monitoring of meters and network devices using UIQ and Itron tools.
• Manage SLAs, vendor coordination, and NOC performance with the Itron team.
• Define and maintain the AMI roadmap, firmware planning, and system releases.
• Oversee data quality, MDMS exceptions, and system integration issues.
• Coordinate cross-functional IT and field operations to resolve issues affecting AMI data and performance.
