Job summary

WSSC Water is seeking an Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Engineer responsible for planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the AMI system, including meters, endpoints, collectors, data management, and related infrastructure to ensure reliable metering and accurate billing.

The engineer will collaborate with IT, Operations, Billing, and Vendors to implement scalable integrations, automate data pipelines, and enhance system performance within a secure, compliant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years in software development or system integration, plus 3+ years in AMI/Oracle C2M/MDM.
• 11+ years with HS diploma alternative experience in AMI/enterprise metering systems is acceptable.
• Experience with AMI platforms (Itron/Sensus/Landis+Gyr) preferred.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum and ITIL practices a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, configuration, and implementation of AMI systems and network communications.
• Plan upgrades and integration with enterprise systems such as Oracle C2M, SCADA, GIS.
• Develop performance standards and maintenance protocols for AMI components.
• Ensure cybersecurity policies and data privacy compliance across systems.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, Billing and Vendors to optimize meter-to-cash processes.
• Support data analytics initiatives related to consumption patterns and customer engagement.
• Document specifications, mappings, and procedures for AMI integrations.
