Southern California Edison is seeking an AMI 2.0 Business Process Design Advisor to shape future state processes for a large modernization program in Pomona, CA. You will drive stakeholder alignment, design new workflows, and partner with engineering and SI teams to ensure successful adoption and governance of changes.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in transformation, strong communication, and MBA credentials.

Qualifications

Southern California Edison’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) 2.0 Program is a transformational initiative that is modernizing the company’s metering, communications, and data capabilities to support the evolving energy landscape. This enterprise-wide program will replace and support more than5.7 million metersacross SCE’s service territory while advancing the technology and systems that power a smarter, more connected grid.

The AMI 2.0 Business ProcessDesign(BPD),Advisor willleverageconsultingteams and/or independentlydevelop “future state” business processes and capture associated business requirementswithstakeholder input andfacilitateon time review and approval of these critical program artifacts.Assignmentsmayincludeidentifyingimprovement opportunities forcriticalexisting processes (e.g.billing, outage management) and/ordefiningunprecedented, advancedcapabilities (e.g.proactiveasset replacement,DERorchestrationforgrid capacityutilization).The AMI 2.0 Business Process Design (BPD), Advisorwillfacilitatenegotiation of potential process/requirement changes asAMI 2.0 technology is assessed andintegrated,andintegrated andwillbe responsible formaintainingtraceable requirements through such changes.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders to provide support for key decisions and to secure buy-in for fit-to-standard and custom solutions developed to meet business needs.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of business operations software and systems, ensuring that business requirements are met for assigned business process area.
  • Leads implementation workshops and other forums to gather, synthesize, and validate information, ensuring a robust understanding of existing business processes and requirements.
  • Conducts thorough evaluations during the implementation phase to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in current procedures.
  • Challenges the status quo, drives transformational change, and recommends practical solutions that align with implementation goals.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes data and process flows, incorporating best practices to support the implementation strategy. Makes informed recommendations or decisions based on this analysis and presents key findings to stakeholders.
  • Designs and documents future state business processes and requirements that align with the new system capabilities.
  • Collaborates with technical team experts to enhance processes, including performing comprehensive user integration testing. Provides functional guidance and supervision to analysts.
  • Builds relationships and interacts with peers, managers, system integration (SI) partners, directors, and all levels of leadership to achieve implementation objectives.
  • Prepares and delivers executive-level presentations and supports other work activities that align with project milestones.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of business operations and/or transformation experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business process design and business requirements capture for large system implementations or upgrades
  • Electric utility experience
  • Advanced metering infrastructure experience
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • MBA
Additional Information
  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
