Job summary

Breakthrough Houston AmeriCorps Members play a vital role in advancing our mission. Across placement areas, Members work side by side with Program Directors, Program Managers, and our Operations team to bring our year-round and summer programming to life.

Together, these placements form an integrated team that recruits new scholars, delivers Saturday and summer programming across the 7th-12th grade and postsecondary continuum, counsels high schoolers through the college access process, and keeps

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or lawful permanent resident.
• Commit to serving for the full program year (Sept 2026–Aug 2027).
• Strong project management, ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Comfort with tech platforms and willingness to learn new tools (G Suite, Salesforce, Slack).
• Analytical problem-solving with a student-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Community Outreach and Development: attend events to raise Breakthrough Houston's visibility.
• Data Management: track student and program data in Salesforce and generate reports.
• Community Building: participate in monthly development and service opportunities.
• Special Projects: rotate projects across the year based on needs and interests.
• Cross Collaboration: work with departments to align initiatives and share resources.
• Other placement-specific responsibilities as assigned.
