Job summary

Entertimeonline seeks an enthusiastic intern to support the Historic Preservation Training Center Architecture Section in Frederick, MD. The role involves field visits, condition assessments, and documentation of historic structures, with opportunities to gain experience in CAD drawings, archival research, and design recommendations.

The position emphasizes strong writing and organizational skills, independence, and the ability to work on-site at the Monocacy National Battlefield area.

Qualifications

• Familiar with historic construction methods and preservation standards (The Secretary of the Interior’s Standards).
• Hands-on field documentation, archival research, material assessment required or preferred.
• CAD and hand-drawing skills; ability to use Adobe InDesign for reports.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site visits to historic structures.
• Conduct condition assessments and document observations.
• Use CAD/hand-drawing tools to prepare drawings and sketches.
• Prepare summaries and treatment recommendations under supervision.
• Review and refine work with Architecture Section Manager.
• Assist in preparing reports and design sketches.
