Job summary

College Possible Minnesota is seeking an AmeriCorps Enrichment Coach to support students from high school to college through tutoring, workshops, and college application assistance. This one-year service position is in‑person, Monday–Friday, with a living stipend and Segal Education Award.

Time is split between the College Possible office and affiliated institutions, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident per AmeriCorps requirements.
  • College graduate between 2021 and 2026 and/or not older than 27 by January 2027.
  • Must clear National Service Criminal History Check and other security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve College Possible students in roles from high school to college and provide instruction, recruitment, and full-year support.
  • Lead college workshops and assist in College Possible sessions.
  • Engage unenrolled students to plan college and career goals.
  • Track participants' information using Salesforce and Overgrad.
  • Support families and engage in recruitment and orientation.

Our Coaches

College Possible Coaches come from various backgrounds across the United States to serve as college access and success mentors. Each Coach brings unique skills to help students succeed. We seek dedicated and capable individuals committed to supporting students on their path to college. Through this service year opportunity, Coaches develop leadership skills, participate in professional development workshops, gain public speaking experience, and more. This role provides a valuable learning experience for both students and Coaches alike.

What You’ll Do

Serve College Possible students in various roles from high school to college. Provide specialized instruction, recruitment, and comprehensive application support, spanning the full academic year and extended summer term. Assist in presenting college workshops to high school students, serve as additional support in teaching College Possible sessions and help engage unenrolled College Possible students to better determine future college and career goals.

Essential Functions
  • Communicate with program participants, College Possible members and staff in person and via email, phone, and other technology tools - focusing specifically on disengaged students
  • Track and record program participants information using Salesforce and Overgrad
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on financial aid applications and the broader financial aid process
  • Serve as Essay Review Specialist, focusing intently on providing in-depth, high-quality feedback and revisions on student writing
  • Initiate and maintain strong Family Engagement by actively involving family members during the new student recruitment process and sophomore orientation
  • Support programming for high academic achieving students
  • Support cohort model of students entering same/similar college programs
  • Support with student recruitment for new incoming high school class
  • Participate in weekly meetings and group planning sessions/trainings
  • Research colleges/universities to provide supplemental resources for student enrollment
Marginal Functions
  • Assist with AmeriCorps recruitment (generating visibility on college campuses, tabling, speaking to college classes.
  • Chaperone campus visits, college fairs, and other events for students
  • Help with other organizational tasks as requested; i.e. working with the media, leading training for other AmeriCorps members, etc.
Qualifications
  • You are a U.S. citizen; AmeriCorps members are required to be U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents
  • You are a college graduate between 2021 and 2026 and/or do not exceed the age of 27 by January 2027
  • You must clear a National Service Criminal History Check and all other security requirements set forth by College Possible and the school district in which you serve before the start of training
Computer/Software Skills

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office Suite programs.
