Job summary

Conservation Legacy is seeking an AmeriCorps Citizen Science Coordinator for the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve in Marrero, LA. The role delivers engaging off-site programs in local schools, partners with teachers to implement hands-on science and cultural heritage activities, and supports curriculum development.

You will lead teaching activities, evaluate student feedback, and help broaden outreach to urban and Title I schools while upholding the National Park Service

Qualifications

Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident status required.
Ages 18–30, or up to 35 with veteran status.
High school diploma or equivalency; plan to obtain diploma before using the education award.
Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging off-site programs in local schools.
Collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum and reach students.
Support curriculum development and educator collaboration.
Develop two new curriculum-based programs and collect feedback.
Prepare monthly program reports with participation numbers and outcomes.
Expand the reach of Jean Lafitte’s education mission through partnerships.
