Overview

IDC is looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Vice President of Sales to lead our Growth Sales Team—a critical engine of new business and expansion for our organization.

Reporting directly to the SVP of AMER Sales, the Sales Vice President will oversee a team focused on serving clients with under $1B in annual revenue. This segment represents one of the most dynamic and opportunity-rich areas of our business. The Growth Sales Team plays a pivotal role in expanding our footprint—bringing in new clients and deepening relationships within existing accounts—while selling across our full portfolio of solutions: Research, Data, Custom, and Events.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the strategic vision for the Growth Sales organization, driving alignment across the team to achieve ambitious new logo and expansion revenue goals.
  • Translate company growth objectives into actionable sales strategies, ensuring clarity of focus, rigorous execution, and consistent progress across key accounts and market segments.
  • Establish and manage a high-performing sales operating rhythm, including pipeline development, forecasting accuracy, and performance management at both the team and individual levels.
  • Coach and empower front-line sales managers, fostering leadership excellence and ensuring they effectively develop, motivate, and support their teams to deliver results.
  • Champion a customer-centric, consultative sales approach that aligns IDC's full portfolio—Research, Data, Custom Solutions, and Events—with client business priorities and growth plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leaders in Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to accelerate pipeline, improve win rates, improve renewal rates, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence, leveraging data and insights to refine sales processes, optimize resource allocation, and scale success.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of direct sales experience, plus 10+ years sales management experience
  • Experience in the market research or technology industries is a strong plus
  • Proven experience managing, motivating, and enabling sales teams to excel and consistently overachieve targets
  • Demonstrated success selling complex products and services to senior business leaders (MI, AR, Marketing, Strategy, and C-Level) at large technology vendors
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, self-starter mindset and a demonstrated ability to take initiative
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Adept at building relationships at all organizational levels - external and internal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and sales enablement tools is preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Salary range and additional compensation, including discretionary bonuses and incentive pay, are determined by a rigorous review process. This process considers the experience, education, certifications, and skills required for the specific role, equity with similarly situated employees, as well as employer-verified US region-specific market data provided by an independent 3rd party partner. The expected total annual compensation, depending on location and experience, is between $265,000. and $300,000. and is inclusive of base salary and variable compensation (if applicable).
