Job summary

Valmont Industries is seeking a dedicated Environment & Sustainability Manager to lead regional programs across the Americas, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and driving sustainability initiatives.

You will translate global strategy into regional execution, partner with the International Environment & Sustainability Manager, and influence cross-functional teams without direct reports.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 7+ years of relevant technical experience or AS degree with 10+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-region or global programs with enterprise impact.
• Ability to manage a regional environmental and sustainability program in a global business
• Understanding of key environmental and sustainability issues and how they can be integrated into business to create measurable value
• Problem-solver who offers solutions to identified obstacles.
• Unquestionable integrity, discretion, ethical and professional approach to business, commitment to clients and personal credibility
• Advanced degree (MS or MBA) in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in environmental and sustainability roles, ideally within a matrixed global organization.
• Proven track record of driving enterprise-wide initiatives and achieving measurable business outcomes and influencing cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Americas functional leader for environmental & sustainability programs providing direction, coaching & performance across a matrixed EHS organization.
• Leads efforts to bolster the environmental acumen of Valmont EHS professionals, aligning knowledge levels with health and safety competencies.
• Collaborates closely with site-level EHS personnel to align local actions with regional environmental and sustainability goals, ensuring consistent program execution.
• Develops and maintains a centralized system for tracking environmental and sustainability projects, enabling accurate disclosures for reports.
• Represents Valmont at external trade associations, regulatory & community meetings, and industry conferences to align with best practices.
• Requires up to 40% international/domestic travel including overnight stays, to engage with sites and stakeholders.
