Job summary

S&P Global Energy is seeking a Director of Communications, Americas, to lead the development and execution of communications across the Americas. The role focuses on elevating visibility, managing media relationships, and aligning messaging with corporate goals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role requires extensive regional PR experience, strong writing and leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial services, energy, and data analytics markets.

Qualifications

• Strategic communications leader with industry credibility and regional media relationships.
• Experience developing and executing PR strategies across the region.
• Experience drafting materials for internal and external audiences.
• Proven ability to build relationships with media, stakeholders, and influencers.
• Strong project management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle time-sensitive issues and crises in communications.
• Minimum 10 years in external comms, media relations, or PR in financial services/energy/data analytics/tech.
• Strong written and verbal communication; fluent in English.
• High AI literacy to plan and measure comms efforts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Americas communications strategy aligned with corporate goals.
• Collaborate with leaders to craft narratives and communicate strategic initiatives.
• Draft and distribute external content: press releases, statements, advisories, pitches, bylined articles.
• Ensure messaging aligns with corporate values and guidelines.
• Build relationships with global media, analysts, and journalists in the region.
• Coordinate media interviews, briefings, and events for divisional and corporate goals.
• Monitor and report on communications results and adjust strategies.
• Manage media relations during crises and mitigate reputational risk.
• Create internal content and support internal events as needed.
