Bilingual is a leading provider of bilingual contact center outsourcing and language services. This role offers remote American Sign Language video interpretation on demand to serve Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients across healthcare, education, government, and business sectors.

The interpreter will render meaning between ASL users and English speakers, maintain RID standards, and provide accurate interpretation with professionalism in a fast-paced virtual environment.

Qualifications

• RID certification is required.
• Reliable high-speed internet access is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively via email and chat.
• Hourly availability between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM EST.

Responsabilités

• Provide interpreting services using American Sign Language to Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals. All assignments are virtual.
• Interpret complex medical information between patients and healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to RID Professional Code of Conduct and applicable regulations (ADA).
• Work independently with minimal supervision and problem-solve as needed.

About the Role

The American Sign Language Video Interpreter is responsible for handling calls on demand, and renders the meaning of conversations between American Sign Language and English speakers. ASL interpreters serve clients across numerous industries, including health care, 911, first responders, education, government agencies, and all walks of business. Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services using American Sign Language to individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. All assignments will be virtual.
• Interpret complex medical information between patients and healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Professional Code of Conduct and maintain an advanced working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and how it pertains to the Deaf community.
• Work successfully and be able to problem-solve with minimal support/supervision.

Requirements

• ASL interpreters must hold a valid, up-to-date RID certification.
• Traditional, wired high-speed internet service provider.
• Ability to effectively communicate via email, and chat-based business solutions.
• Hourly availability between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM EST
