Job summary

Trident Technical College seeks an adjunct instructor for the Child & Youth Studies Department to teach American Sign Language courses and related subjects.

Courses include ASL I–IV, Careers in ASL, Linguistics of ASL, and Deaf History & Culture, with day/evening options and multiple delivery modes (face-to-face, online, hybrid, or SOM) at various campus locations in Fall through Summer terms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in ASL, Communication Disorders, or Hearing Impairment with ASL certification.
• International transcripts must be evaluated through WES.
• Background checks are required in compliance with FCRA.

Responsibilities

• Teach ASL courses including I–IV, Careers in ASL, Linguistics of ASL, and Deaf History and Culture.
• Coordinate with the department on schedule and delivery methods (face-to-face, online, hybrid, or SOM).

The schedule includes day and/or evening classes, face-to-face, online, hybrid, or SOM (Synchronous Online Learning). Course location may include: Thornley, Palmer, Mt. Pleasant, or Dorchester Campus during the Fall, Spring, and Summer Semesters.

This position requires a master's degree in ASL, Communication Disorders, or Hearing Impairment with a certification in American Sign Language.

International transcripts must be evaluated through the World Education Services (WES).
