Athletes Global Corporation seeks an enthusiastic American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor to lead an after-school enrichment program for students in 1st–6th grade in Bakersfield, CA. The session runs Tuesdays from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Oct 15, 2026 – Nov 20, 2026.

Pay is $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, and you will create a fun, supportive learning environment. Ideal candidates have ASL knowledge, enjoy working with children, and can adapt lessons to different ages and abilities while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Knowledge and proficiency in American Sign Language.
• Experience teaching or working with children preferred.
• Experience with ASL instruction, Deaf education, interpreting is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, enthusiastic, dependable, and capable of leading groups.
• Available for scheduled program dates and times.

Responsibilities

• Introduce students to basic American Sign Language vocabulary and communication skills.
• Teach age-appropriate signs, including greetings, numbers, letters, colors, everyday words, and common phrases.
• Introduce students to the ASL alphabet and fingerspelling.
• Lead interactive games, activities, and exercises that reinforce ASL skills.
• Demonstrate proper hand shapes, movements, and facial expressions.
• Encourage students to practice communicating with one another using ASL.
• Adapt lessons and activities for different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
• Provide clear demonstrations, encouragement, and positive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Arrive on time and be prepared for each scheduled session.

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, patient, and dependable American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor to lead an engaging enrichment program for students in 1st–6th grade. The instructor will introduce students to the fundamentals of American Sign Language through interactive, age-appropriate lessons and activities.

The ideal candidate has knowledge of ASL, enjoys working with children, and can create a fun and supportive environment that encourages students to practice new communication skills and build confidence.
