The Opportunity: The American Girl Washington, DC retail store (McLean, VA) is looking for dynamic individuals as Summer Seasonal Sales Department Clerks, who have the interpersonal skills to provide prompt, efficient, and exceptional sales assistance within our customer-oriented environment. This is a year-round, part-time position.

What Your Impact Will Be:

1. Approach, acknowledge, and assist customers promptly; handle multiple customers effectively.
2. Assess and meet customer merchandise and service needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and directing customers to merchandise, suggestive upselling, and awareness of product availability.
3. Share information on store events, promotions, and activities with customers.
4. Promptly and accurately process all point-of-sale transactions.
5. Help resolve customer problems and make suggestions/share product knowledge to turn returns into exchanges.
6. Communicate merchandise and service needs to management in a timely manner.
7. Provide assistance to accomplish team and company goals.

Qualifications:

• Sales experience in the specialty retail or service industry preferred.
• Basic computer skills; some experience using a POS System is preferable.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.
