Job summary

Rock Lane Management, LLC (d/b/a B.W. Furlong & Associates) in Oldwick, NJ seeks an ambulatory technician to support veterinarians during farm visits, handling horses, preparing patients, and assisting with procedures.

The ideal candidate has horsemanship experience, a background in reproductive services, and a passion for world-class animal care. Training is provided; in-season duties peak during breeding periods.

Qualifications

  • Excellent horse-handling skills, including sedated horses, mares and foals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarian with ambulatory and hospital caseload, including breeding mares and stallions.
  • Stock and manage ambulatory inventory and equipment.
  • Manage daily schedule and appointments, including follow-ups.
  • Operate HVMS software to track and maintain up-to-date client history, reports, appointments, and invoices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients.
  • Assist with transvaginal oocyte aspiration and lab work.

For those raising a family, a number of schools in the area offer award winning school systems.What will you be doing?As we have recently expanded our reproductive services, we are looking to immediately fill the role of an ambulatory technician for one of our reproduction veterinarians. Ambulatory Technicians assist veterinarians during farm visits in a number of ways: handling horses, setting up veterinary equipment, managing truck inventory, preparing patients for procedures, and billing. This position is well suited for someone with a background working in large equine barn settings, experience assisting veterinarians, or a licensed veterinary technician. We are happy to provide training for the right person; someone who has exceptional horsemanship and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in reproductive services, enjoy working closely with veterinarians and learning something new every day, and will have a passion for providing world class care for our patients and clients. We ask that you are dependable, responsible, and willing to work hard.The schedule for this position is 5 days a week, for approximately 40-45 hours a week. Flexibility is necessary in order to accommodate staffing needs. Applicants should expect that peak hours will correspond with breeding season, which runs from approximately March through August. The position is full time and based year round in Oldwick, NJ. In the off-season (Sept-Feb) there will be opportunities to assist in various departments such as the hospital and imaging.
