Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for a Day shift in Ambulatory Surgery. You will collect patient data, perform basic care, and assist with care throughout the discharge process within the acute care stay.

Responsibilities include bedside care, data collection, and basic procedures such as glucose testing, blood draws, and ECGs, while maintaining a safe environment and documenting progress.

• Collects patient data including vital signs and intake/output.
• Assists with activities of daily living and mobility as needed.
• Documents care provided in patient records.

• Perform point of care testing such as whole blood glucose.
• Turn, position, and mobilize patients; assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with care toward discharge and transitions within the patient stay.
• Perform technical procedures such as blood draws and electrocardiography.
• Maintain a clean, safe care environment and manage supplies with coordination.
• Document all care in the patient record and report abnormal findings.
