Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Dearborn is seeking an experienced OR nurse to provide leadership in coordinating and delivering high-quality patient care in a busy three-room ambulatory surgical unit. You will apply the nursing process, delegate tasks, and document care and teaching for patients and families.

The role requires a BSN preferred, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and 1–2 years of OR circulating experience.

Job description

This position is for a very busy 3 room multi-specialty OR, including cataract surgery.

We offer a variety of surgical services within our 3 operating rooms: Ophthalmology, General, Plastics, GYN, Ortho Hand, Ortho Foot, Urology and ENT.

General Summary

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Hours

The unit is open Monday-Friday. Shift is 0630-1500 (occasionally required to stay over to finish cases).

Education/Experience Required

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
