Job summary

St. Joseph's Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will support patient intake, obtain vitals, prepare exam rooms, and assist the nurse and providers during visits.

Key duties include charting in the EMR, handling referrals, and helping with patient instruction. CPR/BLS is required; MA or CNA certification is preferred but not required. We offer competitive benefits and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant or CNA program is preferred but not required.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepares for the preadmission of the patient.
• Performs basic health care services like measuring patient vital signs.
• Provides excellent bedside manners and comfort to patients.
• Delivers indirect and direct patient care according to established standards.
• Helps transport patients to and from procedure rooms.
• Cleans and stocks assigned areas including pre-op, PACU, and procedure rooms.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS certifications as applicable.
• Enters all required information into the EMR system and HIPAA-compliant records.
• Performs effectively in stressful situations and adapts to department needs.
