We’re seeking an Ambulatory Services Representative II for our Outpatient Specialty Care Therapy at the Sugarland location. Join Texas Children’s Hospital, ranked as the best children’s hospital in Texas and among the top in the nation. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and non-virtual ambulatory clinics. You may also orient patients to the virtual visit process to ensure successful visits.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing to comply with occupational health and safety standards, as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 2 years of experience in customer service or clerical/medical office/business experience, preferably in healthcare

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Orient patients to the virtual visit process and assist with technology setup
  • Ensure all necessary patient forms are provided and completed for visits
  • Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding appointments, delays, and clinic processes
  • Notify staff of any changes or discrepancies in scheduled appointments
  • Refer patients with funding issues to financial counselors, with no complaints reported
  • Update appointment statuses daily (arrived, canceled, no-show, rescheduled)
  • Maintain organized referral files, communicate missed appointments, and dispose of outdated referrals
  • Review new referrals with providers and coordinate scheduling
  • Assist licensed staff with inpatient admission paperwork and procedures as needed
  • Perform closing procedures such as reconciling fees, deposits, petty cash, and credit card transactions
  • Handle charge entry, billing, and reconciliation
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication
  • Manage flow and room assignments
