We’re searching for an Ambulatory Services Representative II with our Outpatient Autism Center, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers and staff accessing virtual and/or non-virtual ambulatory clinics. May orient the patient to the virtual visit process to ensure patient success, if applicable.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Required 2 years' experience in customer service or 2 years clerical, medical office, or business experience preferably in a Healthcare environment

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient is oriented to the virtual visit process and has all technology set up to successfully complete their visit.
  • Provide and ensure completion of all necessary patient forms for the clinic visit.
  • Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
  • Alert clinic staff and providers of any changes or discrepancies in patient’s scheduled appointment.
  • Refer patients with inadequate funding to the financial counselor, with zero reported complaints.
  • Update appointment statuses daily to reflect arrived, canceled, no-show, or rescheduled.
  • Maintain organized files of current referrals, communicate missed appointments to PCP, and destroy missed referrals after one month.
  • Review new referrals with the provider of the day, discuss appropriate appointment status, and coordinate scheduling.
  • Assist licensed staff with non-financial aspects of inpatient admission, such as calls escort and paperwork assistance.
  • Perform closing procedures including reconciling fee receipts, deposits, petty cash, balancing credit card machines, and completing batch reports.
  • Handle charge entry, billing, and reconciliation processes.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication.
  • Manage flow and room assignments effectively.
