Job summary

OU Health’s Stephenson Cancer Center seeks an Experienced RN for the Urology Oncology Clinic in Oklahoma. The RN I/II will work in ambulatory care, providing high quality nursing care under supervision, supporting patients from surveillance to end-of-life care.

The role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, adherence to OU Health values, and ongoing professional development to maintain licensure and certifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
• Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and maintains nursing professional practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient, group of patients, or patients to be seen by service/clinic.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
• Assists physician in examination and in performing minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medication as prescribed.
• Initiates, regulates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
