Endeavor Health in Skokie, IL is seeking an Ambulatory Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist I. This full-time role focuses on identifying HCC codes in outpatient visits, verifying documentation, and ensuring coding accuracy with CMS guidelines.

You will work with ambulatory CDS and physicians to clarify documentation, stay current on ICD-10-CM rules, and meet productivity targets. A CRC certification within six months is required, with experience in healthcare a must.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• CRC certification required within 6 months of hire.
• 2 years of healthcare or professional business experience.

Responsibilities

• Review/abstract HCC codes to ensure accuracy and highest specificity.
• Identify diagnosis and chart-level impairments and opportunities for documentation improvement.
• Collaborate with ambulatory CDS and physicians to code patient charts appropriately.
• Suggest process improvements to coding goals and outcomes.
• Assist with onboarding new coding specialists as needed.
• Maintain current ICD-10-CM knowledge and CMS documentation requirements.
• Achieve minimum 95% accuracy on coding quality audits.
• Assign ICD-10-CM codes and support risk adjustment efforts.
• Maintain knowledge of all HCC diagnoses in medical records.
