Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), part of Penn Medicine, has an outstanding opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Retail Pharmacy team in Philadelphia. Under pharmacist supervision, you will support outpatient prescription filling, inventory management, and patient communication.

Responsibilities include preparing medications, entering prescriptions, communicating with insurers, handling cash transactions, triaging calls, and maintaining medication inventory.

Formación

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required at the time of hire.
• Must have an active Pharmacy Technician License, in PA and/or NJ.
• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Six months of prior Pharmacy experience in a retail/outpatient pharmacy or payer environment required.
• Infusion sterile compounding experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares medications for dispensing under the supervision of the pharmacist.
• Retrieves and interprets prescriptions.
• Performs pharmaceutical calculations, considering patient and drug characteristics.
• Enters prescriptions, patient health information and insurance information into the pharmacy information system.
• Communicates with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims.
• Runs cash register accurately and dispenses prescriptions to patients.
• Triages phone calls and requests from customers for assistance.
• Delivers medications to assigned areas.
• Maintains proper inventory and control of drugs and supplies; rotates inventory and checks for expirations.
