Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Nurse Manager - Ambulatory to lead ambulatory psychiatry nursing services across diverse programs. You will oversee clinical operations, care coordination, and budgeted resources to ensure high-quality care in outpatient and procedural settings.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, staff development, and maintaining a professional, inclusive environment for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate, master’s, or doctorate nursing program.
• Master’s or doctorate preferred.
• Minimum of three years of nursing practice or progressive leadership experience required.
• Minimum of three years of psychiatric nursing experience.
• Previous leadership experience preferred, including roles such as Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Supervisor, Team Lead, Charge Nurse, or other formal nursing leadership role.
• Experience in ambulatory psychiatry, behavioral health, addiction services, procedural psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, or intensive outpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of ambulatory nursing workflows, including patient triage, medication management, care coordination, and patient and family education.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and change leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, directs, coordinates, and evaluates operational, fiscal and personnel activities for ambulatory settings.
• Oversee nursing component of the total budget and allocate resources for safe, efficient care.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and other health care disciplines to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Promote ongoing staff development and a professional environment for growth.
