Job summary

AdventHealth in Port Charlotte, Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, educate patients and families, and coordinate with the medical staff to ensure safe, effective care.

Requirements include an active Florida RN license, BLS, an Associate's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred), and 1+ year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred.
• Current RN license in Florida.
• BLS certification required.
• 1+ year acute care experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a team with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across physical, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Create and update individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care.
• Administer medications/treatments per orders and monitor for adverse effects.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Coordinate with medical staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Document all care activities, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
• Evaluate care plan effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Ensure infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to healthcare team members.
