Job summary

UCLA Health Outpatient Pharmacy is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to assist in prescription management, fulfillment and patient outreach, including prior authorization and financial assistance. You will work under the direction of Staff Pharmacists and the Pharmacy Supervisor to support accurate medication processing.

Qualified candidates will have a CA Pharmacy Technician license, 2–3 years of experience, and familiarity with drug terminology, calculations and computer entry.

Qualifications

• CA Pharmacy Technician license required.
• PTCB Certification preferred.
• Experience submitting prior authorizations and providing financial assistance.
• 2-3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately.
• Familiarity with drug names, dosage forms, and references.
• Strong communication with pharmacists, nurses and physicians.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in technical aspects of prescription management and fulfillment.
• Support patient outreach, prior authorizations and financial assistance.
• Coordinate prescription processing and cross-reference common drugs.
• Input data into computer systems and generate reports.
• Communicate clearly with pharmacists and healthcare staff.
