Job summary

Qualifications

• CA Pharmacy Technician license.
• 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience - Highly preferred.
• Ability to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical generic and trade names and their dosage forms, and cross-reference to common drugs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical abbreviations.
• Skill in preparing intravenous solutions using aseptic technique.
• Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision.
• Skill in computer order entry of medication orders and related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs and perform related tasks.
• Pre-packaging and inventory maintenance in Pyxis med stations.
• Monitor and document refrigerator/freezer temperatures, sterile room conditions, IV hood cleanliness.
• Billing, workstation housekeeping and pharmacy safety standards.
• Mentor/train new technicians, interns, or staff as needed.
