Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy and FL RPh license required.

• Three years of progressive institutional oncology or specialty pharmacy experience or PG-Y1 residency.
• Board certification in ambulatory care/oncology/specialty pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy support to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and staff in ambulatory clinics.
• Dispense medications accurately and monitor patient therapy in the ambulatory setting.
• Assist in insurance prior authorizations and lowering financial barriers to medications for ambulatory patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary ambulatory care teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Summary

The Ambulatory Pharmacist at Moffitt Cancer Center is dedicated to the mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer. The Ambulatory Pharmacist works within the Clinic Pharmacy (also known as Specialty Pharmacy) to provides safe, evidence-based, cost effective, and patient centered medication management as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. They are responsible for providing clinical pharmacy support to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other staff when caring for patients in the ambulatory clinics. In addition to providing safe and effective drug therapy management to improve patient outcomes, this position would be responsible for performing all functions of a Registered Pharmacist including accurate dispensing, clinical interaction with the healthcare team, patient care monitoring and supervision of the pharmacy. Additionally, this position will assist in supporting the teams that are charged with obtaining insurance prior authorizations and lowering financial barriers to medications for ambulatory patients.

Minimum Required Credentials

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy
• FL RPh License

The ideal candidate will have

• Pharm.D.
• Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
• Either three (3) years of progressive Institutional Oncology Pharmacist experience or Specialty Pharmacy experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Residency (PG-Y1)
• Board Certification in Ambulatory Care/Oncology/Specialty Pharmacy.

Training Required

• Proficient in the drug distribution process of chemotherapy agents and non-chemotherapy agents.
• Clinical practice skills in patient assessment and education, pharmacology, genomics, supportive care, and personalized medicine.
• Excellent skills with communications, writing, computer applications, group dynamics and supervision.
• Professional interpersonal skills are essential.

Salary Range

$75.75 - $75.75
