Qualifications

• Must have either Practical Nursing degree or Medical Assistant degree.
• Louisiana licensed LPN or Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
• Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
• Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
• Provides routine care for patients.
• Observes patients’ health.
• Reviews medical charts.
• Communicates with patients and their families.
• Prepares and administers injections.
• Assists with patient comfort.
• Maintains medical supplies inventory and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Counsels patients by transmitting physician’s orders and medications refills to pharmacy and progress notes for insurance authorizations.
• Schedules procedures/imaging; verifies times with patients; prepares charts and pre-admission forms.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with regulations.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and notifying management when low.
• Serves and protects the practice by adhering to standards and policies; federal, state, and local requirements.
• Answers phone and returns calls promptly.
