Job summary

Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a Surgical Technician for Per Diem, day shifts, 10-hour workdays in the Outpatient Ambulatory Surgery unit. Required: Surgical Technician coursework, BLS (AHA) at hire, and 5 years of scrub experience. Preferred: CST certification; CSFA is noted but not required for this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of approved Surgical Technician coursework or training.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association at hire.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Scrub Technician.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sterility and availability of OR supplies and equipment before daily caseload.
• Scrub and handle instruments during surgeries.
• Adhere to aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Demonstrate competence across a variety of surgical procedures.
• Assist in receiving and stocking supplies for multiple specialties.
• Report inventory variations to the Service-line Coordinator.
• Suggest opportunities for systems improvement to the Coordinator.
• Participate in room turnover and patient transport as needed.
• Support department budgeting objectives.
• Align with hospital philosophy and goals.
