Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse at the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Tinley Park, onsite-only. You will provide direct nursing care, coordinate the patient’s plan of care, and support physicians and the care team in a fast-paced surgical environment.

The role requires a BSN or ADN, Illinois RN license, BLS, ACLS, and at least five years of acute care nursing experience, with preferred OR exposure. Strong teamwork and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN required.
• Current RN licensure in IL or valid temporary permit.
• Active BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification required.
• Acute care or related nursing experience in the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with physicians to assess and design the patient’s plan of care.
• Provide direct nursing care and supervise care team members.
• Monitor patient care quality and patient satisfaction.
• Support daily operations of the Patient Care Center and ensure policy compliance.
