Job summary

WVU Hospitals in Morgantown, WV seeks an experienced Nurse Manager to supervise ambulatory patient care and staff. You will coach teams, monitor operations, and ensure adherence to policies while coordinating with the Manager/Director on daily issues.

Responsibilities include budget involvement, staff development, and maintaining patient satisfaction. 40 hours weekly in a clinical setting, with on-site duties in the WVU Health system.

Qualifications

  • Registered nurse license in the service state or multi-state eNLC.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • BSN degree preferred at hire.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates patient care activities in ambulatory office.
  • Provides daily supervision to staff for prompt, courteous service.
  • Monitors operations to ensure policy adherence.
  • Coaches staff using performance management principles.
  • Identifies ongoing staff education needs.
  • Keeps staff informed of processes and changes.
  • Gathers statistics, completes reports, and handles duties as scheduled.
  • Communicates daily operations status to Manager/Director.
  • Handles complaints and investigates resolutions.
  • Coordinates problem resolution with other departments.
  • Organizes daily tasks for productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintains functional knowledge and can cover staffing as needed.
  • Ensures patient satisfaction is met and reports issues.
  • Assists with annual budget process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • 1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • 2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 1. Three (3) years of health care experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • 1. Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) upon hire.
EXPERIENCE
  • 1.Two (2) years in a healthcare management/supervisory position.

  • 6. Keeps staff informed of processes, policies and other changes thorough continuous communication.
  • 7. Gathers statistics, completes reports and performs other duties as scheduled or requested.
  • 8. Communicates status of daily operations to Manager or Director as well as communicate problems hindering workflow to Manager or Director in a timely manner.
  • 9. Handles patient/family or staff complaints, investigates complaint and makes recommendations on appropriate resolution.
  • 10. Efficiently and assertively coordinates resolution of problems with other departments as monitored by Manager or Director.
  • 11. Organizes and executes daily tasks in appropriate priority to achieve optimal productivity, accountability and efficiency.
  • 12. Maintains functional knowledge of operational areas and is able to step into staffing as needed.
  • 13. Ensures that patient satisfaction is being met and reported to Manager or Director any issues.
  • 14. Assists with annual budget process.
