Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Lung Clinic. This 20-hour per week, part-time role at the Main Campus involves delivering patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting with a focus on pulmonary services.
The RN will assess and plan patient care, coordinate with the health care team, document care, and support discharge planning. MA nursing licensure and BSN are required; ambulatory and pulmonary/ thoracic exposure is preferred.

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The registered nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor.
Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills; must work closely and cooperatively with physicians and other health care professionals. Demonstrate the ability to set priorities. Function independently and well under stress. Must have excellent communication skills and clinical judgment and must have excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility. Must be able to handle multiple projects and re-prioritize as necessary and should possess the ability to perceive sensitive family issues and discuss these issues tactfully.
Works in a busy and stressful patient care environment and in an office environment. May be exposed to communicable diseases and hazardous materials. Must work well independently and in a multidisciplinary group, and exercise flexibility.
Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation and ethical practice standards relevant to the position and as established by BWH/Partners; follows safe practices required for the position; complies with appropriate BWH and Partners policies and procedures; fulfills any training required by BWH and/or Partners, as appropriate; brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate hospital staff.
