Job summary

Sanford Health in Sheldon, IA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide holistic care under supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider. The ambulatory LPN will serve as the primary nurse for a provider within their scope of practice, caring for diverse patients in a rural community.

The position is full-time at the Sheldon Clinic with a day shift schedule, typically 36 hours weekly, and a roster that includes a mix of weekday and occasional Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and obtain LPN license.
• Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board and/or multi-state licensure privileges.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients
• Documents a thorough medical history from patient
• Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered
• Provides technical support to healthcare professionals
• Counseling patients and family on prevention and treatment plans
