Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Kansas; multistate license accepted for Kansas.
  • Clinic experience preferred; patient care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kansas Nurse Practice Act and adherence to statutes/regulations.
  • Understanding of patient rights including confidentiality; strong EMR proficiency.
  • Ability to read/interpret safety and procedure documents; write routine reports.
  • Ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and small-group settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with check-in, examinations and procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments; clarify orders with providers.
  • Triage patient calls, assess physical and psychosocial health status.
  • Coordinate services: labs, point-of-care testing, X-rays, imaging, home care, admissions.
  • Educate patients about medications, tests, X-rays, and procedures.
  • Document medical information using EMR and forms.
  • Maintain safety in patient rooms; remove hazards as indicated.
  • Communicate safety and care issues to appropriate parties.
  • Keep exam rooms clean and stocked; participate in Patient Safety Rounds.

Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt A Brief Overview Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide professional nursing care, under supervision, for clinic patients. Notify patients of test results and provider disposition.* Document medical information using the appropriate electronic applications and/or forms.* Assess patient rooms and surrounding areas for safety issues.
