Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Great Bend, KS is seeking an experienced Outpatient Infusion/Wound Care RN to provide direct patient care in the ambulatory infusion suite and exam settings. You will apply the nursing process, assess data, and act as a patient advocate while coordinating with physicians on each patient’s plan.

Responsibilities include reviewing test results, educating patients and families, and performing infusion-related procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• 2+ years RN experience with 1 year in infusion.
• BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in the state of employment; multistate license acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in ambulatory infusion or exam settings.
• Review and interpret patient test results; communicate plan.
• Assess unstable/complex patient conditions and intervene appropriately.
• Educate patients and families; document teaching.
• Respond to treatment-related calls; coordinate orders with physicians.
• Perform infusion-related procedures per nursing procedures.
