Job summary

Advocate Health in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications. The role includes handling hazardous drugs, labeling, inventory control, and nonsterile compounding under supervision.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and strong attention to detail, customer service, and basic computer skills. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm with benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail is essential in medication preparation and dispensing.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required for patient interactions.
• Basic computer skills are needed to use the pharmacy system and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Prepare, label, and verify medications including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks and manage phone calls and routing.
• Participate in pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Perform nonsterile compounding following USP standards where applicable.
• Carry out sterile IV admixture using proper aseptic technique where applicable.
• Maintain storage area compliance and document medication histories as required.
