Responsibilities

• Verify if external physicians, who fax orders, are privileged with AdventHealth to admit patients to outpatient facilities.
• Minimize duplication of medical records by verifying patient identity through demographic details.
• Send faxed treatment requests via email to Consumer Access Specialists once information has been gathered, to process orders for authorization.
• Input patient information into tracking documents for real-time updates by Consumer Access Specialists.
• Access orders via EMR system and Outlook email.
• Use the Scheduling Book in EMR to accurately schedule, reschedule, or cancel patient appointments based on communication from patients, orders, sites, and physicians’ offices.
• Provide coverage at Ambulatory Infusion Centers as needed.
• Proactively seek assistance to improve any identified opportunities.
