Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an Ambulatory Operations and Informatics Specialist for the Broadmoor Campus in Shawnee Mission, KS. You will lead informatics-enabled ambulatory projects, collaborate with clinical and IT teams, and optimize EHR workflows to meet operational goals.

You will apply Lean methods, develop KPIs, and ensure standard workflows are in place at go-live and beyond. Epic proficiency or certification will be completed within 6 months, with travel up to 10%

Qualifications

• 3+ years of informatics experience.
• 3+ years direct patient care experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and to lead small/medium ambulatory projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead small to medium ambulatory projects, analyzing workflows and designing improvements.
• Collaborate with operational leadership, clinical staff, and IT to optimize EHR-related processes.
• Develop KPIs, track performance, and communicate barriers and go-live readiness.
• Apply Lean methods to document standards and improve ambulatory efficiency.
• Ensure standard workflows are implemented at go-live and maintained post-implementation.
