Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health in Los Angeles is seeking a medical assistant to participate in ambulatory patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and supporting life-threatening emergencies.

You may perform basic administrative, clerical, and technical services when supervision and authorization are in place. Must coordinate tasks with the department and work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Medical assistant diploma or certificate from an accredited program.
• National certification for medical assistants (CMA/NCCT/AMT).
• Experience or training in injections, venipuncture, and skin tests.
• Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology and CPR.
• Ability to administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications.
• Ability to perform venipuncture with PPE safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ambulatory patient care and urgent life-threatening situations.
• Coordinate tasks and follow department protocols with minimal supervision.
• Order supplies and maintain inventory.
• Operate computerized patient care systems.
• Provide administrative, clerical, and technical support as needed.
