Description

This is a full time, day shift position in an ambulatory care setting within University Hospital.

Under pharmacist supervision, this position will focus on medication access for patients at the Digestive and Liver Disorders Clinic at University Hospital. Medication access may include, but is not limited to, prior authorization completion, activation of copay assistance, enrollment in available grants, processing and follow up with patient assistance programs, refill management per protocol, and being a liaison with internal and external pharmacies. Other functions may be required as needed by the supervising pharmacist or department. The position will be located at University Hospital with the potential for some remote work. Experience with medication access preferred but not required.

2+ years relevant experience preferred.

  • Requires the absence of criminal history related to the ability to work with drugs.
  • Requires strong mathematical calculation skills.
  • Requires working knowledge and skills as a pharmacy technician in assigned areas and ability to work within established procedures under moderate supervision.
  • Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires effective customer service skills.
  • Requires intermediate proficiency typing and using Microsoft Office applications. High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Requires Indiana Pharmacy Technician License OR intern/extern license if enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Pharmacy Technician National Certification required unless enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy.
