Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine is seeking an Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our per diem team. The role supports nursing practice, policy implementation, and patient-centered care across ambulatory settings.

You will collect data, administer treatments, and coordinate with licensed providers to develop plans of care that meet patient needs. Minimum qualifications include NYS RN licensure and BLS; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse in New York.
• If hired after 9/1/25: a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required; an Associate Degree may be approved contingent upon Nursing Leadership, with at least two years of nursing experience in the relevant area and enrollment in a baccalaureate program to be completed within 2 years of hire.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in ED and/or ambulatory care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests.
• Records information in electronic health records.
• Provides information, counsel, and education to patients and families about test results and treatment plans.
• Administers medications (including vaccination, IV therapy) and performs wound care.
• Collaborates with licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients.
• Directs and delegates to licensed staff to support patient flow and efficiency.
