Job summary

NYU Langone Florida is seeking an Ambulatory Care Nurse to support coordination and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies. The role requires collecting patient data, collaborating with licensed providers, and implementing patient-centered care plans.

The nurse administers treatments and medications, provides health teaching, and participates in quality and safety initiatives. A supportive, healing environment and teamwork with the interdisciplinary staff are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Florida RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Current Registered Nurse in Florida.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical examinations and diagnostic tests
• Records information in electronic health record
• Provides information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans as directed
• Administers medications (including vaccination, IV therapy, oxygen administration), provides comprehensive wound care, and performs phone and in-person patient triage for clinical concerns.
• Assesses and monitors patient responses to various treatments, procedures, and anesthesia.
• Assesses and interprets patient information, making treatment decisions as appropriate
• Consults with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine best treatment plans for patients
• Directs, supervises, and delegates to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants and technicians as needed to support patient flow and efficiency
• Performs other duties as needed
